### Heroic Dog Saves Companion from Drowning

In an inspiring tale of friendship, a pit bull named Athena demonstrated remarkable bravery by saving her Chihuahua friend, Pulma, from drowning in a pool in Brazil. The incident occurred when Pulma accidentally slipped into the water while exploring near the family’s swimming pool. Despite his efforts to paddle and stay afloat, he found himself struggling as the water overwhelmed him.

Fortunately, Athena, always watchful and protective, jumped into action without hesitation. Video footage captured the pivotal moment as she swam to Pulma and pulled him to safety.

The dog’s owner, Janaina Leite, reported that both she and her family rushed outside upon hearing splashing sounds. To their relief, they discovered Athena had already rescued Pulma. Initially, Leite had concerns about the strength of Athena’s grip, but once she released Pulma, he emerged startled yet unharmed. « It was a big scare, but thanks to her, and God, Pulma was unharmed, » said Leite. She praised Athena for her affectionate and protective nature, emphasizing how special she is to their family.

Even though this was the first time Pulma fell into the pool, Leite recognizes the potential dangers and plans to install protective measures around the pool area to prevent future accidents.
